Natur-Al™ – Low Carbon aluminum

Chicago, February 20, 2020 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) – Century Aluminum Company (NASDAQ: CENX) today announced its line of low-carbon aluminum products, with one of the lowest CO₂ footprints in the world. Natur-Al™ aluminum has CO₂ levels below one-fourth of the industry average or 4 tonnes CO₂ per tonne of aluminum.

Natur-Al™ products are made with energy from 100% renewable sources at our Norðurál Grundartangi aluminum plant in Iceland. Norðurál is certified by the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) for responsible production, sourcing and stewardship of aluminum. All CO₂ emissions are verified by independent third parties, facilitating the life-cycle assessments for our customers.

The Zero option – Carbon Neutral aluminum

Natur-Al™ ZERO is our fully offset, pure, carbon-neutral aluminum. We encourage and assist our customers to go all the way to carbon-neutrality with contributions to reforestation and wetland-reclamation projects.

Natur-Al™ products come in standard ingots (20-22 kg) in primary grades P0610, P1015, P1020 and primary foundry alloy grade A356.
